Okay, so I've decided to pep the blaster up some. I think im going to go with the fmf fatty pipe w/ pc2 silencer and was going to go ahead and get a filter too. Which is better or are they basically the same? Will a filter make any difference at all? I've also been told I might not have to mess with jetting from the stock setting w/ just these mods. Is this true? Thanks for the help and opinions!

With out a Filter the pipe is almost pointless. The engine can exhale exhaust but cant intake any more air. I advide a UNI. A K&N is only good for dry not dusty. ITs more a screen then a filter. UNI and foam filters are better. You will need to rejet. IF you dont rejet after a pipe and filter then your asking for trouble cause 99.9% of the time its going to be lean. A pipe and filter are one of the #1 mods you can do. That is always the first thing you do also. A pipe is a waste with out a high flowing filter. and a not jeting after that is stupid.

of course u have to change the jetting, uni filters dont make a difference there just the same as stock k+N will but make sure you get a prefilter. you should jet it to about 270, 280

A uni flows more then stock. Not as much as a K&N but it still its better even if the K&N has a precharger. I Used to Run a K&N. I blew my top end cause of a k&n. A chunk of mud came in and landed right on it and it went through and blew my topend. Got a UNI. Havnt had a problem yet.

actually im running a k+n with prefilter and i was racing in the mukiest conditions and i could have put my foam on but i stuck with the k+n and it done fine a k+n is crap without prefilter cuz it lets in too much dirt but there good with them either way if put water on top of a uni it will run through and same with k+n but the prefilter stops that soo if u hit a big enough puddle both would let in water anyway. so you should really run a prefilter for foam if you can to be extra safe

the clamp on uni would be awesome on dry days but crap on wet day, u could keep ur airbox in the plastic if u had the uni on you could just remove air pipe and put it back on if u changed

yeah.. thats cause your not getting any more air with the stock filter. You just wasted your $$ of the pipe. thats all. you wont get all the gains out of it.
