K&N's are bad ass filters. They just arnt good for motocross. They let too much past then. K&N's are awsome for cars and trucks ect. Ill put a K&N in anything i own but a quad or dirtbike. And i dont know why people say a prefilter helps it. That just keeps the big shit. still littlle shit gets past both.

Cotton not paper. No. Cotton has bigger holes then foam. There is also alot more foam there to filter then cotton on a K&N. Go look at all the pros ect. They all run foam filter. If you have a airbox cover then you most likely wont have a problem. But if your lid is off K&N isnt your best option.

The little debris still get through. I reccomend UNI Filter with Outerwares Airbox Cover. Why have a lid when you just velcow the ourterwares over the box and its good. 20$ and there you go. K&N's are not good for dusty conditions. I blew my top end because of a K&N. I will use K&N in anything but a quad or dirtbike. I also reccomend Buying some UNI foam(your dealship prolly has it, its just a roll of uni foam) and make a think to cover your box. Thats if you ride in very muddy conditions. That way that foam takes all the box stuff then your filter wont get extremely dirty quick.

reason why because i got scraps of aluminum laying around and also i think it looks better like that than just a piece of fabric laying on it i just prefer that way and ya the k&n may not hold out the dust as good as the uni thats not a problem with me because i dont ride in a very dusty condition i also like the power u get from the k&n but hey its watever u prefer

i never noticed a power diff between them but ive never had dirt in my top end wit a k&N wit a prefilter when i had my uni ,my carb, reeds, top end nasty , and ive never had water in with the k&N ,wit the uni it put me out of a race becuase it sucked water ...but i could be wrong maybe a air leak or somethin but im happier wit a K&N

Im not arguing or anyting but.. I didnt not feel a difference between the uni and K&N.. buts its personal preference. same here, I ran a K&N for awhile and just hated it because of how dirty it got and how fast and everytime I took off my filter to clean it there would be little debris in the intake boot, not good..So I went and got my stock filter and put it back on and I didn't feel any difference in power..
