Take your airlid off completly and the low end bog will go away its just not getting enough air for the toomey jetting, toomey "perfect jetting" according to them is with no airlid,i run the toomey had the same problem removed the lid and she came alive!

Go up 2 sizes on your main jet from stock and out 1quarter turn on your air screw and that should get you started. Also, airbox removed is a good idea. But I do recommend that if your going to run with the air box lid off that you put a small bead of grease around the bottom of your air filter. This will give you a better seal and more protection against any kind of dirt, sand or whatever getting in...

What size of main jet were you running before you put the 310 in that Toomey sent you? The one that you had in there before is the one that you need to go up from 2 sizes. A 310 is way to much jet for a Blaster still running with the stock port design.
And those holes you drill are a crock and a waste of time. Like I say, just take it off and with your finger put a thin bead of grease on the bottom side of your air filter where it touches the plastic to keep any dirt from getting in.
Just make sure that you oil the hell out of your filter too though. I strongly recommend Maxima FAB1 filter spray. Its tackey as hell and has a water repellant in it as well.

this is what toomey sad to do
MAIN JET CHANGE: Using the Phillips screw driver, loosen the clamps at the front and back of the carb, the manifold clamp and the airbox boot clamp. Now you can either rotate the carb to expose all of the float bowl screws, or simply remove the carb from the bike and hold it out to the side so that you can work on it. Remove the float bowl, and find the Main Jet, which is the Brass hex shaped jet right in the middle of the carb. Using the 6mm wrench or socket, remove the Main jet and replace it with the included #310 Main jet we supply. NEEDLE CLIP GROOVE POSITION CHANGE: Remove the Throttle slide from the top of the carb, remove the jet needle, and change the needle clip position to the third groove down from the top (#3) from the #2 (std) position. Replace the needle, slide and tighten the top by hand, gently. Confirm ALL the carburetor settings as follows: · Floats are set to the stock specification, 20.5 TO 21.5mm using a depth gauge or the tail end of a measuring caliper.
· Stock pilot jet, #32.5
· Stock Jet Needle #5J22, on the 3rd groove down from the top
· Needle Jet #345 P-6
· Pilot Air Screw ¾ turns out from full in
· Main Jet #310

2 jets sizes up on a 2003 blaster would = a 250 jet theres no way ur gonna run a 250 main with the toomey pipe, ull lean that motor out and burn the piston up, the down low bogging is a air issue not a main jet issue 310 jet is what toomey recommends it runs a tad rich depending on the weather but not enough to foul plugs. The air vents dont flow enough air even if u remove the snorkel it still dosent get enough air run with no lid and after every ride clean ur filter as long as ur running the toomey/uni foam filter ull be fine ,i wouldnt go riding in water and what not .

Actually a 250 WILL NOT burn the motor up with a Toomey and is indeed a perfect place to START from. Ive jetted over 30 Blasters with Toomey pipes and every single one of them I started at 2 sizes up (this is not to say that 2 sizes up would even be a 250, elevation plays a role in what jet sizes the factory puts in a bike). Hes changing pipes not port designs BTW, not every Blaster has the same size main jet in it either. That veries from place to place. Think about it, im at 5200 feet so with that being said, do you honestly think that Yamaha is going to put the same size main jet in a bike out here as they would on a bike say at sea level like in a place such as California? I think not.
