i dont know bout riding quads or dirtbikes . But when i ride my boys car ( stick shift ) when u hold in the clutch for 2nd, 3rd, ect ..... you give it a tad big of gas then drop the clutch. Granny shifting is just holding in clutch shift then let it out . You wanna give it a little gas to let the gears settle in

Say if your not in the powerband you double clutch...You hold in the clutch and then rev it up and and let out the clutch to get back in the powerband...Usually people use it out of turns to get out of the turns faster withought having to move too far down in gears.

Similar to feathering the clutch to stay in the powerband.

from what ive been told and what i know, double clutching is when you shift from gear to gear you go to neutral let the clutch out, then pull the clutch in again then go to the next gear, its for cars and trucks and on older firetrucks i think u had to cuz my dad said thats what he did when he drove em a while back put the trannys are better in them now
