Well guys, thanx for all of your input. I did go and buy a 1996 Blaster.
The guy said it has power loss though I bought it anyway, it was clean w/new tires....and it was cheap...my problem is:
It starts fine but has no power and smokes alot(white) with oil coming from the exhaust. The guy said it has a new top end and he gave me all the receipts though he had installed himself.
It seems to have good spark, I still need to check compression (about 140psi?), Throw away old gas put in new (what is the ratio? 40:1) and I should also clean the carb. Also I need to replace the kick starter spring which hopefully will not be too difficult.
Your input would be great! Thanx

Definetly change the gas. I bought a 96 blaster also. When I got it the guy hadn't ridden it in about a year. It ran fine for about two or three weeks. Then it started running and then dieing really quick. The gas he had given me was black and nasty with all types of junk in it. Oh it pissed me off so bad.

Well...I checked the compression and it has 130 psi which is hopefully good. So now I will replace the plug and gas and go from there unless somebody has an answer for this situation.
Another Q...what tires do you guys run in the trails and hills? I have 22x11x8 which look really huge on the quad (came that way).

Well I got the kicker spring in and works fine...though now I think I have a big problem......Tranny!
I found metal flakes in the oil and when I try to shift (not running) I can only get to third gear I think, either fourth or third (i forget) rolled like it was in neutral.
I know on my bike I can shift gears while not running with no problem. So now I might have to find new gears or get a new bottom end....this sux.
I know...what did you expect buying a cheap blaster!

If the bike is not running you wont be able to go to about third gear. So I dont think you need a new tranny. If you do though go to rocky mountain and they have them for like $30.
