alright. i just bought a 92 blaster. its got a 240 big bore kit and all kinds of good go fast parts. well i am installing a oil pump block off kit so i figured i would drain all the fluid out and everything, well the drain plug is on the bottum of the engine correct? well i cant get it to budge! the nut is soo rounded off i couldnt even get a wrench on it. i used a pair of vise grips and had them as tight as possible and then tried and i got nothin. any ideas? also what is the plug right under the shifter on the left side? thanks alot for any help!

Its happens alot...even to me. You need to buy some EZ outs also called screw extractors. Its the easist way to get the bolt out. Just buy a few different sizes of them.

Yeah. And dont bother replacing it with another Yamaha standard plug - take the "remnants" to a good bolt maker and get a stronger one made.
My standard plug lasted just one draining, the replacement i had made has been screwed & unscrewed 3 times now without a mark on it.

so since the nut is soo rounded off do i just drill it out and use an easy out to get the rest out? i will deffinately flush it out with some cheap oil and clean it a little. woudl that be ok?

i actually tried that. alot. it kept shaving it. im almost down to the case! those plugs come with washers i think, well the genious who did it last must have torqued it down with a freakin pry bar and didnt use a washer. so it like welded itself in. since it sat soo long getting hot and then cold it just messed it up. im gunna drill it out this weekend and try an easy out and then i will get a good plug with a copper washer. then it wont freeze on anymore! this is crazy! im almost afraid ima have to split the case to get a drain plug out!

we put a 1/2" nut over the drain plug then weld it all together. it comes out easily then .
