Well, i know you said it's an 01' Blaster in "mint" condition but if it has been used since 01 it would be a good idea to get an oil-injection block-off kit. You will have to pre-mix but it's better then having the oil-injector fail on you and screw something up BIG TIME. I think it's around $30 for one. No matter what you do, race or trail-ride, get nerf-bars first. The stock pegs do not grip well at all and that makes it very easy for your feet to slip off and hit/get caught in something. Check out the AC standard nerf-bars. I myself know 2 people that have broken an ankle because they did not have nerf-bars. AC nerfs are about $140. The next best thing to get is an air-filter because the stock one is very restictive and does not do a good job of keeping stuff out. UNI is one of the best foam filters for all around riding. A UNI filter is about $24. The stock tires on the rear of the Blaster are just completely garbage. They aren't good for anything besides snow if the tires you buy cannot get you through it. You said your mostly trail-riding so i would go for some 20" Maxxis RAZR's in the rear. You don't have to worry about front tires too much but if you want to have even better traction you could get front ones too. I guess it would be best to get 21" RAZR's and they should be about the same price. The only reason i say RAZR's is because i have them and they perform very well. My RAZR's where $120 for both ($60 each). The next upgrade can be debated. You can either get an exhaust system or extended (adjustable) axle. When i got my tires i still had the stock axle and i could STILL tip my Blaster even though the tires help. When i turned i felt i couldn't go fast or my Blaster would roll. Now think about it... if your quad is not stable enough to handle more power then it already has... why put more into it? You can have all the power in the world but if you can't control with it what do you do with it? The safe move is to get an axle. I have an LSR Axcalibar and it's awesome. It does cost more then $350 (some axles like the G-Force only cost $200 but there has been no reviews [to my knowledge] on how they perform and handle yet so it would be taking a risk to go for the cheaper axles) but it's well worth the money. It makes the quad handle SO much better and i haven't come close once yet to rolling it. It also looks good too. The next upgrade... should be an exhaust. I suggest Project Blasters Phantom exhaust system because it's had great things said about it. In fact, i don't think i've seen anyone say anything negative about it. An exhaust is a major upgrade that costs around $290. Some pipes can cost up to $350. The Phantom should help your Blaster perfom better in ALL areas. It also looks very good and comes in a variety of colors/styles to match your Blaster. After all of that i would go for shocks. Elka makes some of the BEST and MOST EXPENSIVE shocks for the Blaster. If you want better performance for a cheaper price WORKS also makes shocks that are a bit cheaper. Both can be found in the PB on-line store "Suspension" section. There is a variety of prices because of a few different things you can get. The range for front shocks is about $350 to $1,500. I guess what you would be looking at would be from $350 to $850. The rear shock is just about the same price as whatever you would pay for the certain brand of front shocks you would get. The Blaster does not have a good suspension setup and if your going to be hitting a lot of jumps and stuff it's a good idea to invest into at least a good pair of front shocks. I didn't really include wheels (rims) but those can be bought when you get tires. In my opinion the most preferred wheels are the Douglas .190's. There about $40 to $45 a wheel which would be like $80 to $90 for a set and for all four wheels like $160 to $180. Over time the stock wheels get bent up and are made from steel unlike the .190's which are aluminum. The Douglas wheels will also be much lighter. Those are most of the first major modifications you can do to your Blaster. From there you can do a lot more things but i think that's enough for now. I believe it's better to have stability before power. You want to have a wider and safer machine before you go making it faster and a lot more dangerous. Quote from ATV Scene: Well said they should make that a sticky in the FAQ section

nerfs, bumper, filter, reeds, exhaust, bumper, grab bar, axle , a arms, shocks, swingarm, handlebars, oil injector block off kit, tires and rims all around Well, first off you mentioned bumper twice. Secondly, i think he's looking more for things that are going to make a difference... a grab-bar makes as much difference as slapping a sticker on it. Also, it would be a good idea to get reeds and/or a reed spacer AFTER the exhaust system... not before. A better set of of handlebars is a good idea though. Depending on your height you can get lower or higher ones and they don't cost very much. You can get really cheap ones for $35 or less but if your looking for quality and a variety of bends Pro Taper would probably be the best. I think their SE bars are like $60 to $70. Then, like i said earlier, you can go anywhere from there. A-arms, swingarm, better brakes, motor work, etc. You can also make your Blaster real nice buy getting some stuff from Project Blaster. Graphic kits, hoods, stickers, air-scoops, etc. If your really into making it sparkle powdercoating is an option. Your frame, a-arms, swingarm, hubs, etc can all be changed to virtually any color you want. You really just have to look around for what you want. PB has a lot of stuff specifically for the Blaster so you really don't need to look anywhere else. Anything you can't find in the on-line store the owner Kurt will most likely still be able to get for you.

ok sorry i didnt mean to write bumper twice and you said a grab bar doesnt make a difference well your right but then again what does graphics do At what point in time did i say grab-bars don't do anything but graphics do? I was making a point that he probably is looking for information on how to make the Blaster perform better and since you talking about the grab-bars it reminded me to tell him that not only can you make your Blaster perform better you can also make it LOOK better. A grab-bar and a graphic kit are only for looks but tell me this... if you could get any graphic kit for free or any grab-bar for free which would you choose?

I didnt meen to affend you or start a fight its over and we both made our point

Most people get a grab bar because they either bent theirs or broke it, or they have almost everything else lol.

Well said they should make that a sticky in the FAQ section Yeah, but some people believe that there are better or different ways of setting up a Blaster so it is just really my opinion not an official list or anything. Also, it depends on what your setting your quad up for too... trail-riding, racing, flat-track, etc. Now that i realize it... i did type a LOT.
