Every since I have started to do mods to my quad I can never get my jet correct. I put on the 310 that came with my toomey kit and moved the needle out one notch. Before I new it I was going through spark plugs so much that it was beginning to become expensive. I decided to put in a 300 jet but after doing so lost a great deal of power and felt that I was running to lean. I decided to put the 310 back in but moved my needle position back to oem. Every since, which has only been 2 times of ridding I have seemed to fix my problem. Now my throttle keeps getting stuck badly. 1st the sleeve inside the carb got somehow stuck to where my thumb throttle wouldn’t even move at all. I took it apart and cleaned it out (the sleeve and spring) and went out to ride again. Then my throttle got stuck wide open to where the sleeve wouldn’t fall back down. I took the carb apart again (which I should say I am getting very good at doing) and lubbed the throttle cable. It seems to help some but I can still can tell some hesitation when I throttle and I still seem to have the same amount of top end but when I just quickly throttle it I have little to no response? I don’t have any engine work done and since I keep running rich I know I don’t need a bigger carb but I have been told that the stockers are not the greatest. Are there any smaller upgraded carb that I can get that would work a little better or is my problem perhaps somewhere else. Anyone know of any ideas
