I helped my friend build one and all he did was built up a lot of dirt in one area then used a shovel and spread it around and packed it down. The only thing you have to rember to do is make a little lip at the top of the ramp so it launchs you higher. To know how much space to leave in the middle on like double's i would'nt go over the length you don't think you will be able to clear.

yeah just mound up some dirt in different spots
make berms, doubles, rolling doubles, table top and little stuff
good luck with it man and only make jumps you know you can hit...then make them bigger when you get more experience

dont make a practice track with a shovel it will take like 3 months..lol.
Add things you'll need...Lay out the track try to use natual things too. that way its way smoother..dont just slap things in places. drive around and then just imagine what you would like there and would would be sweet. Then make sure you have you make a nice whoop section to dial in all your suspension ect.

It only took us 1 week to make it and we used a shovel for most of it.

in my practice track in waynesburgh, PA, we only have a 25 foot double, a single jump, a jump up a hill and a small little double up a hill. my dad works for a company that puts up cell towers and he builds the building on the ground. we borrowed a bobcat and just piled up jumps where we wanted them. its real easy for us cause my dads really good with a bobcat. he can put dirt in the bucket so i weighs alot and rise the bucket up realy high. then he rode up one of our hills, doing a wheelie the whole way up lol. we packed the dirt with a whacker that he borrowed. it worked good. there was a flood all through eastern PA and where the track was a while ago and nothing washed away.
