If an ADMIN or MODERATOR could please copy and paste this into the FAQ section I would greatly appreciate it.
Getting the holeshot is very important, it could be the differenece of winning the race or taking a lower place finish. You don't want to stall, wheelie, or slowly pull out of the gate or else you'll watch the rest of the pack from behind, and it seems everyone is always asking how to get that perfect holeshot.
Before you start practicing this, you need good clutch control (use two fingers to get more "precise" control). You need to know how much clutch you need once the gate drops.
If the start has low traction, position yourself on the back of the seat to find more bite with the wheels. If the track had a lot of traction off the bat, lean forward so the front end doesn't pop up on you.
The front wheels will most likely lift a bit so be prepared, just try to keep the height of them rising to a minimum.
If your front end is coming up too high, tightly slip the clutch to bring it back down. You don't want to pull it the whole way in, you'll rob the engine of receiving that top power. Just feather the clutch while keeping the engine rpm's in the middle to top of the powerband. When the wheels hit, slowly let out the clutch while stayin on the gas.
It may take a little while to learn, but this is how i learned it and it really helps me out. Good luck to all in trying to perfect the holeshot.

this is my way
1. Pick your spot on the gate. If its a tar start sweep it first.
2. On the gate put it in the starting gear,1st or 2nd gear.
3. Sit as far forward as possable so you can realease the clutch hard.
4. Find the spot on the clutch were the quad starts to move. then pull it back in very little like a half milomeater.
5. When you see the pins underneath the gate start to move just a little dump the clutch, when dumping clutch push all your weight on the gas tank.
6. Riding now sift fast and take the hole shot
