Will a 02-or older engine fit in a 2003 frame??? or is it different

yes sir it will. the only difference a 03'-04' has on a 1988-2002 is the front plastics, front disc brakes, and ignition switch.

Only changes that has happened since 1989 is the Brakes and plastic. The rest hasnt changed.
