Here are some pics of our gussets We have double welded just about every other joint. The biggest improvment was the top steering stem mount and between the a-arm mounts. These areas are very weak. We have also cut away all unecessary tabs. We need to find out if the tab that holds on the rubber boot from the airbox is needed with the new airbox from VCA. Darren

the tabs are things like the mounts for the oil resivoir or the wire hangers for the rear brake light and oil tank.

the tab I would lke to remove is the one just above the air box to carb. boot. It holds the rubber boot to the frame.

How long did it take you to do that on your frame?

It took a couple of hours to do the work. I cut some of the gussets with a die cut off wheel. It was really prety easy. It took me longer to figure out what all I wanted to remove and add. It's at the powder coating right now so I'll post pics when it gets back. Thanks for the tip on the gusset where the nerf bar goes through. I had to grind out alot of that gusset to make it work. that looks really good txquad! i was thinking about tearing mine down before racing starts to add a few gussets, but im not that great of a welder yet, LOL... i have also had problems with the frame bending behind the lower a-arm mount.. actualy, mine is bent there, my brother is also, and my old frame.. LOL.. was it hard to cut that peice for that one? i might also double weld all of the motor mounts and shock mounts. expesially the rear one, i have had a few problems with cracks there also.

Didn't take long. I used a die grinder to cut out the piece. I set the metal under the frame and used a marker to draw the cut line. It was even easier than I thought.
