5 speed Vs. 6 speed

hello gents, i have a 2000(5 speed)blaster, and my teammate has a 2001(6 speed) and we both race tt. most of the time i out gun him on the turns and a majority of the time i get him on the straight away, i guess thats b/c i'm not shifting as much but his tops out quicker of course. i was just wondering what ur guys input was on the 5 speed advantage/disadvantage over a 6 speed. thanks fellas

blasters have always been six speeds, are you sure 6th gear just isnt working in yours? 6th gear can go out prematurly on blasters

ya or u have a difrent tansmission or sumtin..idk
