i just rebuilt my engine and finished it today and iwas wondering if i put a new crank in it a piston do i need to break it in? and if i do how do i break it in and for how long?

yes, you need to break it in. dearch around on the brakeing in topic, BHQ had a good one there dunno if they still got it or not.

Just take it easy, You can get it to top speed, jsut make sure you get there slowly.

Make sure you do not use a synthetic oil for break in. It will take much longer. You can use a semi synthetic fot the first tank or so. The main thing to remember is to change your rpms constantly. If you go too easy on it, it will not break in properly.

Just burn through 1 full tank of gas and then you can open it up at full throttle.

when i put a new piston in mine i burnt a tank of gas but u want to run at different rpms
