" I wouldn't try porting it yourself, you will most likely lose performance porting it yourself"
Above statement an example of mouth open and mind closed & slammed shut !!!

Don't listen to all the BS that you have to use a "motor God" to improve you performance, if "mommy & Daddy" is not paying for you mods the DIY is an option. If you have a few resources/tools you can very easily port/assemble your own motor
The biggest mountain in porting is not the actual work of porting/polishing itself. It is the knowledge of where and how much material to remove.Simpily by someone giving you the details and measurements of where this needs to be done takes the math/mystery out of porting. Again you may not understand exactly why and have a complete understanding but the result will still be the same
Macdizzy gives a "free recepie" on his free site entitled blaster rebuild. He does very little porting he opens up the intake, deburs flashing in the transfer tunnels, raises the cylinder, decks the cylinder and recuts the cylinder head for a 17cc chamber. This is very doable for the DIY person and is very easy to read and has very detailed pic's showing the work. It is a little conservative but it will deff give you a very nice running motor. There are some horsepower options and some additions you can add to his rebuild and by the time you get through his rebuild you would have an increased understanding to be able to know how to do it.
I would be happy to give you a step by step and give you the numbers you might need for a good port/head mods. Like I said you need few tool if you have the specefic/numbers. You would need to pay for boring, cylinder decking and recuting of the head if you dont have the resourced to this

i would really appreciate any info on porting you can give me! i really dont plan on really cutting into anything too much but i just wanna clean up the intake side and the exhaust because the exhaust port doeant line up at all! i looked at mac dizzy's and thats where i got the idea. i have an electric die grinder i bought to port the heads on my car and i still have stones from that so i think ti will probably work. i just dont know if i have any bits long enough for the exhaust. i might have to go buy one. thanks alot for your help! kartracer if you would like to email me or pm me that would be great! my e-mail is hilfiger_man_03@yahoo.com thanks alot !

i have never had an engine like this apart thanks. i dont know what to expect with a 2 stroke. it has alot of play in it. i know it needs new bearings. i am not sure as to where the play is coming from. which is why im replacing all bearings and seals in the bottum end. i know how to port a set of heads. i have a scholorship from gm and a contract to work for them for 6 years. i am still a senior in high school. they pay for my school and i will be ase sertified in 2 years once i get atleast 6 months experience. i built a trans am with a 485 hp 355 all on my own with no help and i also hold an amateur championship for it on the track. im not a dumb ass....

Inever said you were, you jsut said you don't know much about these engines, I don't think you should be porting it yourself.
