How hard would it be to make my blaster run on alcohol. And is that common?

people use enthanol Alcohol. You need a special carb or your carb modified because you burn it twice as fast, use twice as much, and it gives about a 40% power increase over gas. Then once its done you have to get all the alcohol out of the tank and have to run gas throught the entire engine and make sure there is no alky left in the engine of any port of it. IF you leave it sit it will eat gaskets, seals, hoses, plastic, ect. It gets very expensive fast. Also it is banded for almost all typed of MX. Drag is basically the time its used. It is also expensive..and lets not forget you have to run race gas throught it to flush it out because it will detonate on pump gas.

yeh kefht basically cleared it up..Alky cost the same as premium (just about) but like he said it burns twice as fast and you'll never make it on a mx track on one tank, its made for drag ONLY..I don't recommend you do it unless you have money and drag only.

you would need much higher compression and go leaner on your jets.if not then your basicly wasting $$$$,methanol cost like 2 bucks a gal where im from, also burns cooler than premium....smelss wicked too

Why would you run a stock engine on Menthanol?
And you dont ahve to go lean on the jets...You have to fucking get your carb convereted for Alcohol because you burn about twice the amout of fuel

my bad on the jets, got it backwards needs to be richer, like a 310,90 and needle change....thats all the converting needed, also need a high flow petcock.USE ONLY WITH HIGH COMPRESSION,its useless with out it!

2x the fuel...ive seen 310's in stock carb with a pipe and the airlid off. You need a alky carb. Everything is basically 2x the size.. the jets let 2x the amount of fuel ect. You also have to flush the system with gas or the alky will eat through the seals, ect.

You also have to remember things like reeds and intake boots. My Boyeson power reeds had "DO NOT USE WITH ALCOHOL FUELS" written about 5 times in the directions, lol. I assume they will get brittle and fly apart and into the engine...
