i am look in to get a k&n do they help much performance wise. what are the plusses to gettin a aftermarket air filter as opposed to keepin the stock?

i got the kn and at first you wont really notice and power increase maybe if take of the airbox lid you really fill it when you put on a pipe tho if you ride in really really dusty conditions i would get a foam filter like twin air or uni but i ride in pretty dusty conditions and it held up i got the prefilter

i ride in dusty conditions in teh summer but other than that it isnt too bad. isnt it kinda bad if u take the lid off teh air box, althought it imporves performance, what does custom air boxes and lids do, i see a lort of people have that?  |

they let in more clean air like mine it has a outerwears prefilter on it like mine  |
