There is no doubt in my mind that they work. Some brands might work better then others, but I think they all lower the temp a few degrees. If you look, they are in front of the engine enough that the air has to hit the engine on its way to the rear of the quad. Even though they are not touching the engine, they are still effective. Now, I am not sure what angle the scoops make with the centerline of the quad, but that could be corrected for even more cooling.

Tell me how do they direct air to the engine when they are about a foot away from the engine..Since you guys are talking in very small numbers here...So They actually slow you down .08 of a second because the drag they cause.

the blaster engine is air cooled kheft.
the little fins when air gets blown on them cools off the motor, and work as heat sinks, since the scoops direct more air to the engine, it will be cooler.

It doesnt matter that they are a foot away from the engine. They aim the air toward the engine. They are mounted at an angle. The air hits the scoop and continues at approx. the same angle (right to the engine). Are your vents in your car touching your face?

Thats not what im saying....im not a fucking retard. I build fucking engines, yet you dip shits tell me what a cooling fin is. For them to have the numbers you are giving you have to have them touching the cylinder. you put them in a wind tunnel and you will notice. Air Scoops do not save your engine, nor do they add performance by a cooler motor. So, my point..they are just looks. They may lower the temp 5 degrees but who cares. That make it go faster? no. Look at water cooled bikes. do you see the Scoops/shrouds far away from the radiator? no... Thats because if there is a gap, and air is lost. Now you cant not tell me that does not make sence.
Also, If I ducttaped a tube to your air vents in your car. think more air would hit you, yes.
My point.. If the airscoops dont touch the cylinder its not going to make a decent differance.
