Would coating a pipe with a Jet Hot coating give me any gains? It would help prevent excessive heat when riding in the summer on slower speed trails....and I would think it would help keep cylinder temps a few degrees lower since the pipe wouldn't be radiating as much heat, allowing more to be radiated from the cylinder....any opinions? I think I might give it a shot when I get a pipe.... www.jet-hot.com/pages/headercoatings.html

I might do it anyway.....it should cost too much and it might really help when June/July/August rolls around and I know my bro's 4-wheeler (Honda Rancher 350) gets the cooling fan going and it just keeps running damn near non-stop....so I think it'll probably help my bike too

I had the headers on my car jet-hot coated and it made a difference. Not much of the difference would be applicable to a quad though. It reduced my underhood temps by about 20 degrees, which is good considering that I pull air in from under the hood. The thing is, I had it coated inside and out. Alot of places will only do the outside, which then, its mostly for looks. A bit of warning though, if you run even the slightest bit lean ever, you will turn the coating blue and you won't be able to polish it out like chrome or nickel plating. Honestly, I'd tell you to save your money for something else. The gains just don't outweigh the cost.
