Hey kurt i went riding today and my quad was running slobbery. I thought it was the plug but it was fine. I road it around and clocked it against my brother's stock yes i say STOCK blaster and mine lost. Its bullshit cuz here are my minds.
Port n polished, shaved head, milled head, bored .20 over, fmf fatty pipe and silencer, no air lid, and power reeds. and a 32 or 36, 38 carb i forget lol
Im running 93 octane. Am i suppose to run higher ? And why is mine lagging so bad ? It was doing good but now its not

It's too hard to tell what's wrong without me actually being there and listening or riding it. Does it cut out anywhere? Check to see if you don't have any air leaks (boots not being on right) and check your compression if you have a tester.

there's a little oil coming from the cylinder. At top speed it smells a little and its bogging. I use to be able to start off on a wheelie in 2nd gear but now it just bogs down. It has a loss of power and bogs once in a while. It even pings sometimes

well something's not right, let me talk to my mechanics about it when I'm back in the shop on Monday and see what they say. If anybody else wants to help out our friend Bobby, feel free!

Do correct plug chops at various speeds to help confirm that your jetting is close. Check your piston wash. Oil from the cylinder?? Tell us more please. And a 36mm or 38mm carb is huge for the mods you have. As for the octane level at 20 thou I wouldn't think you would need anything higher then premium. What is your compression? Honestly, it sounds like you may be off on your jetting or you infact have an air leak that's making it go lean. A pinging sounds isn't a good sign though. If the oil is coming from the exhaust flange you might want to check and see if you replaced the exhaust gasket! Good luck.

you may have a blown head or base gasket.

Hey bob, i had somewhat of the same bogging problem while riding, i got me some new reeds, and there was no more bogging.

mine did that and it was the base gasket it had the gasket folded in on the side and there was a pretty big size hole.

well if you got oil comming out of the head you got a blown head gaskit that is what i would say and also check your reeds and see if they are stuck open ~~Rayne~~
