Ok i was wondering. with the main jet, does a bigger main jet let more oil mix with the gas or what?

allows more fuel to be delivered into the carb, then mixes w/ the oil.

well see, my spark plug keeps fouling out from what it looks like, too much oil. Im already only mixing my oil 40:1? what should i do?

try mixing your oil at 32:1. what size main jet are you using?

32:1 is more oil than 40:1, ya i want to jet it right but i need the jets and i need to know how to jet it.

I have a 260 main in mine at the stock needle setting and run 32:1 oil mixture, hope this helps a little.

hey 4strokekiller,wut mods do u have on ur quad.i have reeds,reed spacer,fmf pipes,aluminum air box w/uni clamp on and oil b/o.wut main do u think i should run.i think a 260 would be fine.if anyone has an extra jet please tell me i have a race next sub and my local shop has no jets

The amount of oil mixed with the fuel is determined solely by what ratio you mix at, it has nothing to do with your main jet size. Your main jet controls the amount of fuel that your carb sends into your cylinder from 3/4 to full throttle. From what you have stated in your posts your running way rich. However jetting doesnt just consist of your main jet. As stated above the main jet only controls from 3/4s throttle to full throttle. For more information on jetting go here: 204.71.0.3/motoprof/moto/mcycle/carb101/carb101.htmlYou need to understand the function and throttle position that each jet in your carb is responcible for before you can begin fixing your problem. Once you understand that then you can do plug chops at each different throttle position and correctly jet your bike. The link I gave you cantains all the info you need.

well ok ill answer this post real quick. No body here can help you. We dont know what mods you have. We have no clue what main jet size you have in your carb. We need to know all this to give you a rough estimate of what number to start off with. Its never just one. Your climate and location makes a difference per quad. So list all your mods, Main jet size ( will say on the jet ) an then we can give you a 4 Jet size lead way
