i work at a tire shop and i have to fix 4 wheeler tires cause im the only one thats trusted with them, plug em if the whole is big. u cant really patch a 4 wheeler tire because that involves buffing the inside of the tire and unlike car tires (steel cords) they dont have a thick enough carcass, not to mention the polyester/nylon cords that the 4 wheeler tires come with, i would recommend the tire balls which are super expensive or getting a higher ply tire. slime doesnt do anything but make a mess, when it gets heated by rolling with the tire it becomes hot and more liquified than actual slime so its almost a water substance and will shoot out of the whole freely,a higher ply doesnt always ensure being punctured just harder to do. ummm. im kinda stumped right now, ill get back to you if i think of anything.
