I recently put a 400ex rear on my 95, its night and day, way better than stock, question is, how do you adjust the sag and other settings for a 190 lbs ridder? Be kind, I'm new

sag is adjusted by the threaded preload on the top of the shock body. good rule of thumb is you want 1/3 of your travel to be sag.

Thanks, what about the hi/lo speed compression?? the ex shock only has standard compression adjustments... only top of the line aftermarket shocks have high and low speed. the compression adjustment is the knob on the resivior that turns,, hard or softer.

The 400 also has rebound adj, which is on the bottom of the shock.

compresson is soft/hard..Rebound is how quick the shock returns to its pisition..You want that so it dont buck but doesnt pack.

What type of modifications are required to fit a 400EX shock on a Blaster? Or will it just bolt right on?

front ex shocks are to long. the rear shock does ot just bolt up. you will need to make a bushing/spacer for the bottom, and cut a little bit of plastic on the fenders because of the piggyback rezzy.

You need to drill out the bottom and make a bushing for the top. because you cant drill the stock one cause its hardened steel.

Its no where near bolt-on, I had to take mine to my fab shop and first they tried to drill out the stock bushing, haha no chance. so they just made a new one and the bottom is easy, just drill out the aluminum with a drill press. Only a small amount of plastic had to be removed from the fender in front of the air cleaner. IMO if you don't want to spend an ass load of money on aftermarket this is the way to go, only cost 50 bucks for shock off ebay and a six pack of beer to my fab shop for the new bushing and drilling.

I had tried it before you wrote your reply, sorry and I did get through it with a carbite bit but we did not have a larger one to open up the hole more. xoxo
