NOT much at all! I thought it would be more. Hey if i were u i would just cut the hole nozle part. I don't know what that big tube part is called. lol

All of the water will be splashing up from the bottom any ways. So in a way u are helping the water get in there.
If u know what i am sayin u would understand!
I have a rubber flap that protects the water from splashing up and gettin there.
