is there any way to eliminate the tors without buying the eliminating kit?

it's better to get the kit, it has everything.

are you using an aftermarket carb? if you arent why remove it? its a safety feature, and rarely fails. removing it does make jetting changes a little easier, but for the 30 or so it costs youd be better off saving your cash for something that actually gives an increase in performance, just my $.02

no its a stock carb but when i put the reed spacer on it bumped the whole thing back and in order to get the seat back on we have to tilt the carb a bit and i think its putting to much stress on the carb..... im not sure i just ran out of room.

I had a similar problem with my 1/2" spacer. It wasnt that it hit the frame tubing, it just made it harder to reach the idle adjustment. I ended up getting rid of the whole tors system.
